From May 29 to June 1 in Milan, an exclusive series of workshops with Ren Yagami sensei, one of the most recognized contemporary masters of Yagami Style and Kinbaku.
Ren Yagami is an internationally renowned Japanese artist and founder of the original Yagami Ryu style — a form of shibari and kinbaku that integrates deep knowledge of body mechanics, movement, and relational awareness through rope. His practice stands out for blending Japanese martial body principles (particularly aikido) with the art of tying, creating an approach that emphasizes flow, connection, and relational awareness, rather than purely visual technique.
In his workshops, Yagami sensei does not simply teach aesthetic patterns: he guides participants toward understanding biomechanics, fluid movement, non-verbal communication between partners, and the shared expressive experience created through rope. His methodology is rooted in the idea that rope is not merely a tool of restraint, but a medium for deep human connection between those involved.
