- Il termine si riferisce ad una legatura in cui delle corde tengono aperte le gambe del soggetto legato, esponendone così i genitali. Il mito da cui prende il nome questa legatura racconta che la dea del Sole Amaterasu gettò il mondo nel buio, nascondendosi in una caverna vicino ad un posto chiamato Iwato. Nel tentativo di farla uscire nuovamente, la dea Ama-no-Uzume (detta anche dea dell’alba) danzò nuda davanti all’ingresso della caverna. Incuriosita, Amaterasu uscì per poterla guardare e grazie a questo stratagemma l’entrata della caverna le fu chiusa alla spalle, facendo così risplendere nuovamente la luce sul mondo.
