Nello shibari è inteso più specificamente come l’aiutante del maestro, l’assistente, colui che grazie alla sue doti e alla grande passione potrà portare avanti il lavoro del suo maestro. Esempi di Sensei/deshi sono Akechi Denki/Kanna Nawashi e Chimuo Nureki/Akira Naka. Così come per “Sensei” non ci si presenta come “deshi”.
